Quietools Lists

Keep the choices of a Google Forms™ question in sync with a list in Google Sheets™.

Quietools Lists is an add-on for Google Forms™. You pick a spreadsheet and a range, and the add-on uses that list as the choices of a dropdown, multiple choice or checkbox question. When the list changes, the form follows: when you click Update now, or automatically after each response.

Add a session to the sheet and it appears in the form. When a session is full, it leaves the form.

How it works

  1. Open your form and start Quietools Lists from the add-ons menu.
  2. Choose a question, pick your spreadsheet in Google’s file picker, and enter the range to read, for example Sessions!A2:A. Empty cells and duplicates are skipped.
  3. Edit the spreadsheet. The question’s choices update when you click Update now, or after each response with the full version.

Made for lists that change

  • Workshops, classes and appointments with a limited number of places.
  • Order forms whose product list lives in a stock spreadsheet.
  • Internal requests that list people, rooms, sites or projects.

When something goes wrong

  • If the spreadsheet can’t be read, because a tab was renamed or a file moved, your current choices stay in place and the add-on tells you what to check.
  • Before each change, the previous list is kept. One click puts it back and pauses the link while you fix the spreadsheet.
  • When a list runs empty, the question can show a message such as “Full: no places left”, or the form can close and reopen by itself once the list fills up again.

Questions

Does Quietools Lists store my data?

Only the settings it needs, such as which question is linked to which range, and the previous list so you can restore it. They are saved inside your form, in Google. Nothing is copied to a Quietools server.

Which questions can it fill?

Dropdowns, multiple choice questions and checkboxes.

Which languages does it speak?

English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German. It follows the language of your Google account.

Can I move my license to another Google account?

Yes. In the sidebar, click Remove the license from this account, then activate the key on the other account. You can also free an activation from your Polar customer portal.

What happens when a yearly plan ends?

Your links stay and keep working with Update now. Automatic updates and automatic closing stop until you renew.
